The year 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal, a milestone that reflects seven decades of enduring friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation. Since the formal beginning of diplomatic ties in 1956, both nations have shared a strong partnership built on cultural exchange, development cooperation, people-to-people connections, and shared values. This historic anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate past achievements, honor long-standing collaboration, and reaffirm a shared commitment to strengthening Nepal–Japan relations for future generations.
Parash Mani Pokharel provides strategic leadership to the Nepal Japan Foundation with a strong commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Japan.
